VoIP Innovations has had a busy and exciting week. If you've subscribed to our blog or have seen our Facebook posts, then you've probably already seen all of the blog posts we've posted this week. If not, I'm about to fill you in!
On Monday we released a brand new feature in our BackOffice that allows our customers to categorize their DIDs (phone numbers) into specific groups. We called this new feature 'My DID Groups' and if you follow the link, it will take you to the post that goes into much more detail about the capabilities of it.
Along with the release of the My DID Groups, we released a white paper that covers the basics when Managing Wholesale SIP Termination. You might remember from other blog posts that we've talked about the Rockefeller Habits. These habits include priority, data, and rhythm. In our white paper, we discussed how these can all be applied to managing your termination services. Here's and excerpt from the white paper:
"Priority is simply setting priorities and sticking to them. Data is having access to the facts needed to make informed decisions. Rhythm is simply your daily routine. We manage our wholesale SIP termination services using these three habits and from past experiences, we can assure you that termination can make you pay, not figuratively, if managed poorly and it takes an entire team of people to manage it well."
Also this week, we were able to finish up our 3 part series on the Achilles Heel of the VoIP industry. We started the series by talking about Service Provisioning, moved to Service Support, and finished by talking about Billing Systems. When you're talking about a telecommunications company, billing can be one of the hardest things to do right. In the article, we explain how you can avoid failure in this department by following through with three key processes: Accuracy, Reporting, and Transparency.
Our series on the Achilles Heel of the VoIP industry brings us into our next topic of discussion, guest blogs. Hopefully you got a change to read this week's guest blog, The Beginners' Guide to Breaking into Wholesale VoIP, from Rachel Greenberg at VoIP Review. I also had the opportunity to write a new version of the Achilles Heel series to post on their site in return. You can read the article here.
An initiative we want to try and carry out is to post a new guest blog each week. I'll also be posting more specific guidelines on the types of things we'll want to incorporate in the guest blogs later on next week.
Lastly, we want to talk about the restructuring we did with The Private Label (TPL). The goal with the restructuring was to update the reseller reports and dashboards. We revamped the current Customer Revenue Report and added a Customer Cost Report. The Home Page dashboard received a facelift as well and we added a new menu option called All Customer Services where customers can see their Lines, SIP Trunks, DIDs, and Virtual DIDs.
