Can you believe we’re half way through November already? I sure can’t! Nevertheless, VoIP Innovations continues to move on and deliver great things to our customers as the months fly by. Let’s start by giving you a few BackOffice updates. If you remember from a few weeks ago I mentioned in my Chat with Nat that we’ve been updating pages in the BackOffice, well today I’d like to announce that the Tickets page is the latest one to be updated. We also added International DID tiers to the My DID Groups listings. International services were a theme this week because we added Toll-free International services to our offerings as well. Before we released our International Toll-free services, customers could only purchase U.S. and Canada Toll-free DIDs. We are now servicing the countries listed below. Next week you can expect to see a more detailed post that includes the tiers and rates for these countries.

Another new feature that popped up in the BackOffice is The VI Tie. I mentioned a little bit about him last week and that he’s going to be your guide for getting quick tips about the BackOffice. He’s hard to miss since he doesn’t like to sit still!
I next want to do a recap of the two part series we did on the Development Lifecycle of a New Feature. In this series we wanted you to see what went on behind the scenes when we get a new feature request. Part One explored what that feature goes through as it is submitted, developed and ultimately deployed. In Part Two we picked up right at the deployment stage and talked about the things that go on afterward. There are three other factors associated with new features that could come up before or after they are deployed. Those factors are Defects, Incidents and Tasks. These are explained in more detail in the article.
Also this week on the blog we featured a great Guest Blog from John Terra, a freelance writer. John’s article, VoIP Is In and Traditional Communications Are Out, talked about how VoIP is becoming a more attractive option for the communication needs of businesses. He brought up some other great points on this topic so you should definitely check this post out! Next week we’ll be featuring a blog post on The Role of VoIP in Upcoming Mobile Technology.
Not only were we busy adding new things to the BackOffice and posting great things on our blog, but we also welcomed students from Canon McMillan High School. These students were made up of Freshmen to Seniors who were involved in the schools Entrepreneurial Program. Here’s a blog post that ABG Capital wrote about their visit.
In other news, tomorrow is the day of our Annual Turkey Bowl! You probably remember me talking about us going bowling or playing kickball or softball, well this football game will be the same deal. We’ll spend half of the day working and the other half trying to crush our competitors on the field. But remember, our customers come first so members of our support team will still be in the office ready to help. I’ll be taking pictures of the game so make sure to check those out on our social media sites when Monday rolls around!
As you may know, we’ve recently expanded our office and filled it with fantastic artwork. Well, that wasn’t the end of our office decoration phase because in the upcoming weeks we’ll be creating a VoIP Innovations specific wall that is dedicated to our 2014 company goals.
