How to Ensure a Smooth PortToday we’d like you to hear from one of our newer Porting Representatives, Trichelle Barish. She has been with our Team for about 3 months now and she’s really making a splash! Trichelle received our Employee of the Month Award for January and was then featured as our Spotlight of the Month for February. If you’d like to learn more about Trichelle or any other member of our Porting Team, please check out this blog post where we introduce you to the team.

As I mentioned, Trichelle has been working in the Porting Department for 3 months and in that time she’s come up with this list of tips to help ensure a smooth port. Our team does everything they can to make sure the porting process is an easy one. These tips are geared towards our customers so when they start the porting process, there is very little room for error.

Please take a look at this list and consider making yourself a checklist of things to do before you submit your port.

1.) Provide a copy of the bill, dated within the last 30 days. Make sure that the bill copy has the TN (Telephone Number), address and customer name listed on it.

2.) Include a copy of the CSR (Customer Service Record) if it is available.

3.) If the CSR and copy of the bill are not available, provide the account number in a porting note.

4.) If this is a partial port, provide instructions on what to do with remaining numbers on the account. If the BTN (Billing Telephone Number) is being ported away, provide a new BTN for the remaining numbers on the account.

If you have any other questions on submitting a porting request or about porting in general, please visit the Porting/Provisioning page on our Wiki.
