Welcome back to another Chat with Nat where we get to talk about all the great VoIP Innovations news that you might have missed this week. Let’s first recap on some of the great articles we posted on the blog and some others that we have coming up next week.
On Monday we posted an article that talked more about how we now display the underlying carrier names in the BackOffice. This was wrapped around the idea that we are a very transparent company. We don’t want to hide anything from our customers, so we let it all hang out! As I mentioned in the article, making the decision to display the carrier names was a decision that bounced around for two years. It just came to a point where we knew offering this information would be very valuable to VoIP Innovations customers and their businesses, so we went ahead and made the change. Since we’ve released the names, we’ve gotten some great feedback from customers saying that they’re very happy we decided to add this information.
The second article we posted this week was a fantastic Guest Post from John Terra, a freelance writer. His article was on what VoIP can do for small to medium businesses and it was very informative. My favorite part of the article was the very first paragraph where he made a very basic approach to VoIP. Here’s the excerpt from his post, “The word sounds like some sort of sound effect, like “Plop!”, or “Splat!”, doesn’t it? But in reality, VoIP is a means for a small to medium business to function more effectively in the 21st century and thereby remain competitive.” I thought it was straight to the point and would make sense to a small to medium business who was on the ropes in deciding whether or not to make the switch to VoIP.
Next week we have some more great articles to share with you! We will FINALLY be posting the Development Lifecycle Part 2 article that I’ve been talking about for a few weeks now. If you remember from Part 1, we explored what a new feature had to go through from the time it was first requested all the way to when it was deployed. Part 2 will pick up right where that left off and will cover what is involved when there is an incident, defect or task related to that feature.
We also have another Guest Post for you to look forward to. This one, titled, VoIP is in and Traditional Communications is out, makes some very good arguments as to why VoIP is the next best thing. Some of the main things he covers are togetherness between voice, data and video, it’s growing exponentially, it can be mobile focused and there’s tremendous value within the industry. Make sure to check back on our blog for when this get posted next week.
In other exciting news, we’re going to being making a new addition to the VoIP Innovations BackOffice. Have you ever been in the BackOffice and just couldn’t figure something out? Well, next week we’ll be introducing a friendly new helper that is full of tips and tricks for working in our BackOffice. He is The VI Tie and he’ll be at your service!
Also looking into next week, we’re going to be having our annual Turkey Bowl Football Game! These games are a great way to get out of the office and blow off some steam with our co-workers. We’ll be taking a half day on Friday to play, but don’t worry, our support team will still be manning the phones ready to help with your issues.
As we bring this week’s Chat with Nat to an end, I want to make a farewell announcement to Matt Bartko. Matt is one of our porting specialists and has been with VoIP Innovations since 2011. He will be leaving the company to explore other opportunities and we wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his life!
